GPlus Dental – Secure 62 pieces of coverage across top-tier news, radio, and lifestyle media

The Mission

Grow Public Relations ran a healthcare PR campaign in Singapore for GPlus Dental and G Dental Center, led by founder Dr. James Ho.

The work built six activations around founder profiling, expert commentary and seasonal pitching to reposition oral health as everyday wellbeing, earning 62 pieces of media coverage across Tier-1 print, digital, broadcast and podcast platforms from July 2023 to May 2024.

GPlus Dental and G Dental Center, led by founder Dr. James Ho.

Sector

Dentistry and private healthcare in Singapore.

Services

Thought leadership, expert commentary columns, event publicity, seasonal media pitching, founder profiling and broadcast interviews.

Headline Result

62 pieces of media coverage across Tier-1 print, digital, broadcast and podcast platforms, from July 2023 to May 2024.
The Challenge

Most people book a dentist when something already hurts. GPlus Dental wanted oral health treated as part of everyday wellbeing, which meant changing a habit that has been set for decades.

The audiences barely overlapped. Parents managing their children's hygiene. Working adults eating their way through festive season. Older patients weighing up cosmetic options. Patients whose fear of the dentist keeps them out of the chair for years. Medical news in Singapore moves fast and generic dental advice gets ignored. Dr. James Ho's expertise needed stories with a human hook, told without heavy clinical jargon.

Pieces of Media Coverage Across Tier-1 Print, Digital, Broadcast and Podcast
Delivered through six PR activations between July 2023 and May 2024, positioning Dr. James Ho as a clinician who understands why patients stay away
What we did
Six PR activations ran across the engagement, each built for a different slice of the market. Five of them are set out here.

Paediatric and family engagement. We conceptualised the Spooktacular Dental Hygiene Event, a physical activation for parents and young children. It ran as a lifestyle feature in Honeycombers Singapore, inviting parents and their little ones to take part.

Expert commentary on sensitive topics. We put Dr. James Ho on the psychological side of dental care. The Straits Times ran a feature on a patient who endured years of ear pain from a molar tooth because a fear of dentists kept her away. A second The Straits Times column answered a plain hygiene question, whether you should scrape your tongue regularly. Cosmetic dentistry for older patients ran in SilverStreak SG.

Seasonal and preventative pitching. We used calendar moments to pitch proactive care. A guide to dental resolutions ran in The Active Age, and festive gum health tips for Lunar New Year ran in Lianhe Zaobao.

Whole-body health and founder profiling. For World Oral Health Day we secured an educational article in Wonderwall.sg connecting oral health to general health. Enterprise Zone profiled Dr. James Ho's entrepreneurial journey as founder of the clinics.

Broadcast. We pitched Dr. James Ho for radio, which landed a dedicated interview segment on CNA938's Daily Cuts on oral wellness.

The Results
Grow Public Relations generated 62 pieces of media coverage for GPlus Dental between July 2023 and May 2024, spanning Tier-1 print, digital, broadcast and podcast platforms. Six activations carried the campaign, from the Spooktacular Dental Hygiene Event for children to a national radio interview. The CNA938 Daily Cuts segment gave Dr. James Ho a dedicated slot to talk about oral wellness with a national audience.
The coverage put GPlus Dental inside national health conversations and everyday lifestyle stories at the same time. Dr. James Ho reads in print as a clinician who understands why patients stay away, which is the reputation the campaign set out to build.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does PR work for dental clinics in Singapore?
PR for dental clinics in Singapore works by putting a named clinician into stories people already read, so the clinic earns trust before a patient ever books. Grow Public Relations did this for GPlus Dental and G Dental Center from July 2023 to May 2024, pitching Dr. James Ho as a commentator on dental anxiety, tongue scraping, festive gum health and cosmetic dentistry for older patients. The work mixes expert columns, seasonal pitching, public events and broadcast interviews. Coverage in national titles gives a clinic something advertising cannot buy, which is a journalist choosing to quote the dentist as the authority on a health question.
How much media coverage did GPlus Dental get from working with Grow Public Relations?
GPlus Dental secured 62 pieces of media coverage through its campaign with Grow Public Relations, running from July 2023 to May 2024. The coverage spanned Tier-1 print, digital, broadcast and podcast platforms and came out of six PR activations aimed at different audiences. Highlights include two features in The Straits Times, a Lunar New Year gum health piece in Lianhe Zaobao, a World Oral Health Day article in Wonderwall.sg and a dedicated interview segment on CNA938's Daily Cuts. Dr. James Ho fronted the campaign as founder and clinician, which gave editors one credible voice to return to across the engagement.
How do you get a dentist featured as an expert in Singapore media?
A dentist gets featured as an expert by answering the questions readers actually ask, with a real patient story attached. Grow Public Relations placed Dr. James Ho of GPlus Dental in The Straits Times twice, once on a patient who endured years of ear pain from a molar tooth before seeing a dentist, and once on whether you should scrape your tongue regularly. Both angles open with everyday behaviour and close with clinical explanation. SilverStreak SG carried his view on cosmetic dentistry for older patients. The pattern holds for most clinics. Pitch the human problem first, keep the jargon out, let the clinician explain.
How long does a dental clinic PR campaign need to run before it delivers results?
Health stories follow the calendar, so dental clinics get more out of a sustained campaign than a single push. GPlus Dental worked with Grow Public Relations from July 2023 to May 2024, which gave the campaign room to run a children's dental hygiene event, the new year with dental resolutions in The Active Age, Lunar New Year with festive gum health in Lianhe Zaobao, and World Oral Health Day with an education piece in Wonderwall.sg. Six activations ran in that window and produced 62 pieces of coverage. Scope depends on how many audiences a clinic wants, because each one needs its own angle and its own pitch.
Which PR agency in Singapore works with dental clinics?
Grow Public Relations works with dental clinics in Singapore. The agency ran the campaign for GPlus Dental and G Dental Center from July 2023 to May 2024, building Dr. James Ho into a recognised voice on oral health in national media. That work produced 62 pieces of coverage from six activations, across The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, Honeycombers Singapore, SilverStreak SG, The Active Age, Wonderwall.sg, Enterprise Zone and a broadcast interview on CNA938's Daily Cuts. The approach suits clinics whose founder will go on record and explain their field in plain language to a general audience.
Can PR help a dental clinic reach patients who avoid the dentist out of fear?
Yes, and it is one of the strongest angles a clinic has. Grow Public Relations built a Straits Times feature around a patient who put up with years of ear pain from a molar tooth because of a fear of dentists, with Dr. James Ho of GPlus Dental explaining what that avoidance costs. A story like that reaches people who would scroll past a clinic advertisement. It names the fear, shows the consequence and gives readers a clinician who sounds understanding. Dental anxiety is common enough that editors treat it as a real health story worth the space.
