Hoiana Resort & Golf – Secured 104 influencer postings and more than SGD 1 million PR Value

The Mission

Hoiana Resort & Golf is a full-service beach resort located in Hoi An, Vietnam.

Grow PR was tasked to create brand awareness through familiarisation (FAM) trips for influencers and media from Singapore and Malaysia over a 6-month period.

Client

Hoiana Resort & Golf, a full-service integrated beach resort in Central Vietnam

Sector

Luxury hospitality, golf and travel

Services

Media and KOL familiarisation trips, travel trade outreach, executive profiling

Headline Result

1,092% ROI, over 8 million impressions, 104 influencer postings and 28 media articles across Singapore and Malaysia
The Challenge

Hoiana Resort & Golf wanted to win travellers in Singapore and Malaysia as regional travel recovered. The brief went beyond announcing the opening of the 330-room New World Hoiana Beach Resort. Hoiana needed to sell a complete premium experience: an 18-hole links golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., beachfront access, rum distillery tours and Vietnamese cooking classes.

The luxury hospitality and golf market in Southeast Asia is crowded. Advertising alone could not carry the detail of what the resort offers. Hoiana needed authentic storytelling and third-party endorsement to earn the trust of high-net-worth travellers and drive international bookings.

8 Million+

Digital Impressions Across Singapore and Malaysia
Generated through 104 influencer postings and 28 dedicated media articles from hosted journalists and KOLs, including XinLin Khaw, Linna Kua and Chenelle Wen
What we did
Grow Public Relations, based in Singapore, built the campaign around two tactics: travel trade press outreach and curated familiarisation (FAM) trips for elite media and KOLs.

We opened with corporate announcements to industry and travel media. Travel Daily Media covered the resort's world-class positioning and GGRAsia reported the launch of the new 330-room beach resort.

Then we brought tastemakers to the resort. For the golf audience we secured a review in The Business Times and a place in AugustMan's guide to the best golf courses in Vietnam. We profiled Hotel Manager Jimmy Lopez in Lifestyle Asia on experiencing Hoi An holistically. First-hand stays and dining reviews ran in PIN Prestige Malaysia, District Sixty Five, Savour Blackbook Asia and The Hotel Journal.

The Results
The six-month activation delivered a 1,092% ROI and a total equivalent ad value of over USD $312,200, surpassing SGD 1 million in PR value.
Hosting influencers including XinLin Khaw, Linna Kua and Chenelle Wen alongside senior journalists produced 104 social media postings and 28 dedicated media articles. The coverage generated over 8 million digital impressions across Singapore and Malaysia, giving Hoiana the third-party validation it needed to drive regional bookings.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does PR work for luxury hotels and resorts in Singapore and Malaysia?
PR for luxury hotels and resorts works by putting travellers and journalists inside the experience, then earning coverage from trusted titles. For Hoiana Resort & Golf, Grow Public Relations ran travel trade announcements in Travel Daily Media and GGRAsia, then hosted media and KOLs on familiarisation trips to Central Vietnam. First-hand reviews followed in PIN Prestige Malaysia, District Sixty Five and The Hotel Journal. This approach suits high-value destinations because affluent travellers trust an honest review or a golf feature in The Business Times far more than an advertisement.
What results can a resort expect from a PR and influencer campaign?
A well-run resort campaign can deliver both reach and commercial return. Hoiana Resort & Golf's six-month campaign with Grow Public Relations achieved a 1,092% ROI and an equivalent ad value of over USD $312,200, which surpassed SGD 1 million in PR value. It produced 104 influencer postings, 28 dedicated media articles and over 8 million digital impressions across Singapore and Malaysia. Results on this scale come from combining travel trade coverage with familiarisation trips, so the resort earns both authoritative write-ups and a steady stream of authentic social content from KOLs who have stayed on site.
What is a media and KOL familiarisation trip?
A familiarisation trip, or FAM trip, invites journalists and key opinion leaders to experience a destination in person so their coverage comes from genuine first-hand knowledge. For Hoiana Resort & Golf, Grow Public Relations hosted senior travel writers and influencers including XinLin Khaw, Linna Kua and Chenelle Wen across the resort's golf course, beachfront, rum distillery tours and Vietnamese cooking classes. The visits produced reviews in PIN Prestige Malaysia, Savour Blackbook Asia and The Hotel Journal. FAM trips work for luxury travel because the detail of a premium resort is difficult to convey secondhand, and a reviewer who has stayed writes with credibility.
How long does a luxury hospitality PR campaign take?
A destination campaign usually runs over several months so coverage builds through the booking season rather than in a single burst. Hoiana Resort & Golf's campaign with Grow Public Relations ran for six months, moving from launch announcements in Travel Daily Media and GGRAsia through to golf features, an executive profile in Lifestyle Asia and a wave of first-hand stay reviews. The sustained timeline let the campaign reach 8 million impressions and 104 influencer postings. A longer run also gives time to host multiple familiarisation trips, which is where the most persuasive travel coverage comes from.
Which PR agency in Singapore works with luxury hospitality and travel brands?
Grow Public Relations is a Singapore PR agency that works with luxury hospitality, golf and travel brands across the region. For Hoiana Resort & Golf, a full-service integrated resort in Central Vietnam, the agency delivered a 1,092% ROI, over 8 million impressions and 28 media articles targeting Singapore and Malaysia travellers. The team combines travel trade outreach with media and KOL familiarisation trips, securing coverage in titles such as The Business Times, AugustMan, Lifestyle Asia and PIN Prestige Malaysia. This mix suits resorts and destinations that need authentic third-party endorsement to reach high-net-worth travellers.
How do you promote a Vietnam resort to Singapore and Malaysia travellers?
You reach cross-border travellers through media and influencers they already follow at home. For Hoiana Resort & Golf, Grow Public Relations targeted Singapore and Malaysia directly, placing a golf review in The Business Times, a destination feature in AugustMan's guide to the best golf courses in Vietnam, and stay reviews in Malaysia's PIN Prestige. Regional KOLs including XinLin Khaw and Linna Kua shared first-hand content with their audiences, contributing to 104 influencer postings and 8 million impressions. Marketing a destination across borders works best when the coverage is local to the traveller, even when the resort is not.
