Pollisum Group came to Grow Public Relations to position CEO Chris Ang as a visionary leader modernizing Singapore's crane and heavy lifting industry, while spotlighting workforce welfare and public infrastructure contributions.

The campaign secured broadcast features on MoneyFM 89.3 and Capital 958, a cover story in a+ Singapore, and viral coverage of a migrant worker's S$28,888 prize on Mothership and Business Today.

Client

Pollisum Engineering (Pollisum Group), a Singapore heavy lifting and haulage specialist led by second-generation CEO Chris Ang.

Sector

Heavy lifting, crane hire and construction equipment.

Services

Executive profiling, media pitching, second-generation succession storytelling, radio and broadcast interviews, CSR and employee welfare campaigning.

Headline Result

Broadcast features on MoneyFM 89.3 and Capital 958, a cover story in a+ Singapore, and coverage of a migrant worker's S$28,888 prize on Mothership and Business Today.
The Challenge

Crane leasing and heavy equipment is a conservative, low-visibility market. Traditional crane hire companies often struggle to modernise their image and stand out to corporate clients and government partners.

Pollisum's first task was executive credibility. Chris Ang stepped up at age 31 to lead the family business, and had to persuade senior employees to adopt digital and operational changes.

The second was its role in nation-building. Over 80% of Pollisum's crane fleet works on major Land Transport Authority (LTA) infrastructure projects. To earn mainstream business recognition, Pollisum needed a clear story about industrial change, fleet management and employee welfare.

What we did

Business radio. We positioned Chris Ang as an expert voice on modernising heavy industry and secured a dedicated feature on MoneyFM 89.3's Mind Your Business, available on Omny.fm and Spotify. The interview covered technology upgrades in crane operations, safety protocols and how the industry is changing.

Second-generation succession story. We pitched Chris Ang's leadership story to business and Chinese-language media. Enterprise Zone ran an in-depth profile and a+ Singapore made Chris Ang its cover story. Capital 958 followed with a two-part series, available on MeListen and Apple Podcasts, on how Chris Ang accelerated the company's growth and secured major LTA government contracts.

Employee welfare story. At Pollisum's annual Squid Game-inspired dinner and dance, long-serving migrant worker Yin Yan An won a S$28,888 cash prize. We took the story to the media and it went viral, with coverage on Mothership and Business Today.

Expert commentary. Chris Ang contributed views on workforce mobility and international experience to CNA Today.
